Families with new babies benefit greatly from a few postpartum doula sessions. In these sessions, the doula provides emotional support, one-on-one breastfeeding help, newborn care techniques, and family care so the mother can rest, eat, or shower, or so that she can just spend one-on-one quality time with her newborn.
Each session is 3-4 hours in length. I suggest reserving blocks of 2-3 sessions for the first week you are home with the baby, or possibly for the first week you are home without support. I do not offer services after a baby is older than one month old and I do not offer night care.
Fee: A $75 set-up fee that includes: a 2-hour prenatal meeting to get to know the family and the house; a resource guide to postpartum issues; reserving your space; and the first 2 hours of service.
$16/ hour thereafter.
